David Cook - Billie Jean Chris Cornell Cover of a cover

I got a head's up on this - the blogoverse knows what is what. He did exactly a Chris Cornell Cover of Billie Jean. Yes it was acknowledged, but he is just now stripping every rock cover of every song he does. He is not original. he is good, but don't call him original. We got fooled when Daugherty did the Live version of Walk the Line - We won't bet fooled twice.

Hear Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean here. Can't wait for the mainstream media to pick this up tomorrow.

*ok i hear it was acknowledged. It was a good cover but please don't call him original. I'll take Cook any day over the other David. Thanks for commenting!

the version are a bit different and, still, Cook was good.

But, man oh man, is Chris Cornell good. Great link...listen to this whole Sweden set. Wow.

As for AI, Ramielle, Jacuzzi, and Kristy Lee are in trouble. Outside chance Dreads or Carly are in bottom 3.

I'll call Ramielle "goes bye-bye"...and good freaking riddance

At least you mentioned that you didn't hear the beginning, because Ryan says "here is david cook doing chris cornell's cover of billie jean..." when have the artists EVER spoken prior to a song or said anything about "credit" afterwards? don't be a tool. you're hating for nothing.

ya i think if anyone is to blame its the judges for overhyping the originality; I thought he did a good job with it.

On a side note Check out chris cornell's live acoustic version of like a stone.

Credit was given, and your comments make no sense as any artist singing another artist's recording is covering it. Period.

Yes a cover of a cover is still a song of a cover. i agree with anonymous # 3(?) = just don't call it original I would like to see Cook go further than the other chickies.

Credit was given! There are tons of them doing covers of covers, for example, the first week of Beatles night David A. did a Stevie Wonder cover of a Beatles song and no one felt the need to point it out. Also, Randy called him the most 'original contestant' not the song as being original. He rocked the s&*t out of that song and I've been huge fan of his since he did Hello. I listened to the Incubus version and it was good but it wasn't like Davids!

Just my opinion, but David Cook's version is way better than Chris Cornell's. I was blown away by David Cook's performance tonight. I'm ready to buy his albums and hear him on the radio. They're all doing knock-offs of songs, so give the guy a break. His performance was stellar!

The judges were completely oblivious and that is why he received more praise than he deserved from them. what this did was make the judges look bad. simon always says 'be relevant'. Well, when none of the judges were aware of the chris cornell arrangement from 2007, THEY look out of touch and uninformed. Simon may not even know who chris cornell is.
